MINYA TERRORIST ATTACK

The Afro-Asian Peoples' solidarity organization received with grief and sorrow the news of the shameful attack on Egyptian Copts during their visit last Friday morning to Nawal Baraka,

one of the monasteries, and resulted in victims of 35 dead and wounded in Maghagha in Minya governorate in Upper Egypt. The AAPSO strongly condemns this heinous terrorist attack which is aimed at the heart of Egypt and its national unity, which is the most precious principle, and affirms that compromising the security of Egypt means compromising the security of the entire Arab region Therefore, there must be a strong international and Arab commitment to confront terrorism and eliminate it both intellectually and security, fighting it in all its forms, addressing its intellectual roots and drying its sources of funding, and taking all necessary measures to prevent and fight terrorist crimes.

At the same time, the Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) calls on the international community particularly the United Nations, to provide adequate support to Egypt in its war against terrorism and sectarian extremism. These two phenomena, which require international efforts to contain and address them with the utmost rigor and to bring all criminally organizers, financiers and sponsors of acts of terrorism, whether individuals or countries to justice in accordance with international law and the Security Council resolutions. As well as work through an international program agreed upon to address the causes of terrorism and ensure its eradication and safeguard the beliefs of people and the lives of innocent people and preserves the sovereignty of States and peoples stability and privacy and the world's safety and security .


The Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization offers its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to all the Egyptian people, wishing the speedy recovery of the wounded.
