AAPSO hails
India-Pakistan Thaw
The three day Summit of the SAARC held in Islamabad, the Capital of
Pakistan ended in a great success. This in the first time that SAARC
Summit was able to deliberate in an atmosphere of cordiality and steer a
coure of action plan for South Asia comprising Bangladesh, Bhutan, India,
Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. To begin with they agreed for a
free trade area to commence from 2006.
The outcome of the Summit was a landmark development. In the past the
bi-lateral isritant between India and Pakistan, the two biggest countries
always hindered the SAARC process to a dead end. Since of late both India
and Pakistan had taken positve actions to develop friendly relations
between the two countries. The two countries have restored, Air, Rail and
Road transport which came as a great relief for both people.
The whole world has hailed this new development in the Indian-Subcontinent
for the exemplary wisdom and foresight shown by the leaders of both India
and Pakistan.
The U.N. Secretary-General commended to say that he was "excited by
the actions" and "applauded the wisdom of the leaders of India
and Pakistan" .
AAPSO from its inception had consistently supported peaceful solution to
the thorny issues between India and Pakistan through dialogue. Therefore
AAPSO congratulates leaders of India and Pakistan particularly for the
succesful conclusion of the SAARC Summit.
Congratulations

His Highness
Ambassador Dong Honeih Lab,
Embassy of Vietnam,
Dien Bien Phu Battle
The French forces considered Dien Bien Phu as a decisive battle in the
Vietnamese War. They gathered a huge number of the military forces on the
pretext of dragging the Vietnamese forces from all sides to be able to
weaken their resistance, and to control Vietnam. However, this was
discovered early by the Vietnamese leadership of the legendary President
Mr.Hoshei Menh and the smart General Mr. "Phu Jojween Jeiab".
They mapped a very genius strategy to overcome the French forces in Dien
Bien Phu without weaken other sides of battlefronts which were escalated
in fighting.
There were a complete and a comprehensive determination by the Vietnamese
leaders and peoples to take over "Dien Bien Phu" and to overcome
the French colonialism at its heart. General "De Castries" was
the French Leader of the army at "Dien Bien Phu ".
Within a violent subsidiary battles around "Dien Bien Phu" the
Vietnamese forces was able to seizure this inaccessible castle.
Consequently, the French forces became besieged by the Vietnamese forces
and they were compelled sometimes to withdraw some of their forces by air.
In 1953 and during the repeated defeats of the French forces, the USA
interferred as General Izenhaour ordered military supplies to be sent to
the French forces monthly. They were estimated by twenty thousand to forty
thousand tons. He declared the American's persistence for saving "Dien
Bien Phu" out of the Communists' hands and especially Vietnam which
has an important and a strategic location in South- East Asia. Also, he
sent an American military mission to Vietnam with hundreds of American
officers. He agreed with the French forces to nominate the French general
" Na Varre" to be able to win the battle.
Then the Vietnamese attack had been started to restore "Dien Bien Phu"
since Autumn 1953 till Spring 1954, and the main battle continued for 55
days. The Vietnamese General Jeib used a very genius strategy in this
battle. As, he didn't attack a determined battlefront , but attacking all
the weakness sides to the French forces one after the other. Then he
withdrew and repeated this till penetrating the French forces. The
Vietnamese forces attacked heavily the Center of the French forces beside
other sides till the French became exhausted. They couldn't know where the
attacks would take place, and by which kind of weapons.
This genius tactics was the example implemented at all other battlefronts.
This tactics was described by Americans as they said., "We were
walking in one of the battlefront where everything was completely quiet
but suddenly a group of Vietnamese emerged and surrounded us from every
sides."
Finally, in 1954 March 13, the Vietnamese forces celebrated the starting
of the last battle for capturing Dien Bien Phu. In 1954 May 7, they could
to put the Vietnamese flag at the inaccessible castles and to prison
General De Castries with more than 2000 of his forces. The Vietnamese
presented this victory to their great Leader "Hoshei Minh".
By this battle, the Vietnamese people added a brilliant victory to their
struggle as Dien Bien Phu becomes a symbol for any nation struggling for
its freedom, and a victory on the biggest military forces in history, who
forcing out the Vietnamese from their land. The great victory on the U.S.
was in 1975.
I praise the great Vietnamese people who sacrificed millions of their
sons, daughters, children, villages and cities for gaining freedom and
dignity.
Dr. Morad Ghaleb
President
Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization.

Baghdad
12/1/2004
Notification
It seems that a group of unknown people with unknown intentions have used
my name in issuing statements through the Internet, attacking political
personalities.
In fact, I have not issued any statements like this before, neither have a
website. Actually, till now I haven't possessed an internet set and I'm
not using my name "Wamid" under any circumstances.
As some of these statements were published in Arab newspaper, I felt the
need to ascertain that I have no relation with them and deny this way of
plotting my name in ignorant intentions.
And God is my witness.
Dr.Wamid Gamal Omar Nazmy
This notification is a reply on a liar and a fabricated letter on the
internet by the name of Dr. Wamid Omar against AAPSO.

Fabrication
is a shameful method in politics and journalism
Development reports indicate the badly need of Arabs to a revival project
to decrease the gap between them and other nations proceeding on democracy
establishment. This project requires basic factors in which truthfulness
becomes as the first priority when dealing with reality, ourselves and
others.
It is supposed that newspapers, which have been publishing in the foreign
countries to get rid of the suppression of thoughts and its consequences
of using liars and trickery styles. They should be objective when
displaying facts to be as a bridge reassuring passing the backwardness
gap. However, some of those newspapers are still using methods of
defamation, accusation and truth forged.
For example, one of those Arab newspapers published in London, and known
of its strong relation to Sadam Hussain's regime has fabricated a
"letter", using my name falsely as being its writer.
If I assumed their good intentions for publishing the letter or if I
believed that they received the letter by mail, this would have not
neglected their failure to contact me for the reality for this letter
before publishing. However, supposing their good purposes is not
acceptable matter.
This letter from A to Z is similar to that writing method of the
intelligence organisations and its bodies. As you could find little
fragments of truth combined with many liars, then to be provided to the
reader as " a cooked food" aiming at:
1) Damaging me myself as the "main melody" of the letter
indicates the denounce of its writer from his relation with the Jewish
Defence League. The writer of this fabrication aims to reveal the ashes
under fire. So "innocence" becomes a kind of guilty confession.
2) Damaging my colleague and friend, Mr. Nouri Abdul Razzak Hussain, the
Secretary-General of AAPSO, who was exposed to a campaign of false
accusation. He was defended by many Palestinian movements leaders who know
him as a firmly struggler for restoring the Arab rights. Besides other
national Iraqi personalities who support him in the campaign.
3) The content of this letter aims to defame the forces working for
establishing democracy in Iraq, by intimated that the leaders of the
movement who are against the dictatorate as having "black dots".
Sadam Hussain's agents used this method when dealing with Iraqi
oppositions (and Arabs in general). This method was continued and reached
its climax by using assassinations. This letter is a repeated and a small
copy aims at assassinating their spirits.
4) I don't assert, but I assume the publishing of this letter helps
directly or indirectly the international Zionism movement by the
intimation of its extensity inside the Arab body and its leaderships. I
don't want to refute all what have mentioned in the letter, as it is only
pieces of cheap liars. It is just enough to refer to the unknown of the
writer as he ignores my position as he described me twice as one of the 25
members of the transitional Ruling Council.
The reader of what I am writing in Arab and Iraqi newspapers knows very
well my avoidance of using "Vulgar" expressions like that
mentioned in this false "letter". Besides other many mistakes
and false events which I couldn't mention in details because you can not
find any true in all what is really fabricated.
Consequently, I would like to inform those interested in this matter about
my intention to sue the newspaper for publishing this fabricated letter.
And I announce that the money I will gain as a compensation will be given
to support free and objective journalism.
Finally, I would like to express my constant belief that neither Mr. Nouri
Abdul Razzak, nor I, are the subject of this attack. But it is the new
Iraq that seeks to get rid of occupation and the heritage of dictatorial
regime and to establish an ideal experiment of a democratic regime as an
alternative of the suppressed and tyrannical regime. These horizons may
force others to be worry and envy Iraq for that.
Those who are unable to reconstruct the past and polish it, will seek to
hinder the present and damage it.
Dr. Mahdy Al Hafez
Minister of Planning
and Development Co- operation
This is a refutation to a fabricated letter on the internet by the name of
Dr. Mahdy Al-Hafez.

The Egyptian
Solidarity Committee
A proposal
presented by the Commission for the present situations of the Arab World
Doubtless, the deteriorated circumstances of the Arab World nowadays, call
upon all democratic and national forces to organise an immediate and
effective dialogues on the political and economical developments in the
Arab world and searching for the effective methods to overcome the severe
crises, every Egyptians and Arabs feel. For example, the invasion of Iraq
by the Imperialist British and American forces, the falling of the
dictatorial regime, and the continuous popular resistance in Iraq. Also,
the Zionism daily attacks by the Israeli troops against the Palestinians,
and the trials of stopping the noble Intifadah. The ultimate supports to
the terrorist and suppressed Israeli policies by the U.S. The weakness of
the present Arab regimes before the American-Israeli attacks in the
region. In addition to the developments in Syria, Libya, Sudan, Saudi
Arabia, Morocco and other Arab countries, and the growing of fundamental
movements, with the lackness of democracy and paralysing mass movements.
The Egypt Solidarity Committee thinks on the necessity of inviting
parties, syndicates and NGOs to discuss the present situations and to
reactivate the mass movements to be more active and effective through a
mass conference described by transparency and clear views in discussing
the following issues:
* The American occupation to Iraq and its motivations and working out to
clear this occupation as soon as possible with handling the authority in
Iraq to the national and democratic forces.
* The Zionism attack on the Palestinians with the support of Americans and
mobilizing for facing this attack.
* Reactivating the question of democratic by the participation of public
and mass movements to cancel and eliminate any laws tend to forbidden the
freedom and organising any work towards democracy changes.

Dr. Fakhry Labib
Greetings,
The Arab Program for Human Rights Activists has the honour to invite you
to the second workshop within the framework of cancellation the
exceptional Laws and courts, under the title "The positions of
Lawyers and Journalists towards the Exceptional Laws and Courts". The
workshop will take place at the Head Quarter of Al-Saed Development
Association on February 12, 2004 from 2 to 9 o’clock in the evening.
Exceptional laws and courts have bad effects at all fields of life. Their
negative influences are directed clearly on the rights of all society
sectors.
No doubt, the judge, the lawyer, the journalist and the politic are
considered the biggest sector who have the ability to face these effects
as they are the most to be involved with these laws due to the nature of
their work. The first real improvement step starts from sticking the
natural laws and standards.

Trade
Union Organization and FTAA
We, trade union organizations of the five continents affiliated with the
World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), send fraternal greetings to all
the organizations - trade union, social, political, of intellectuals,
religious, peasants, indigenous peoples, youth, women, artists,
parliamentary bodies and the Non-Governmental Organizations - present at
the IIIHemispheric Meeting of Struggle against the FTAA, which is taking
place in Havana, capital of heroic Cuba.
The workers and people of Latian America and the Caribbean are conscious
of the fact that the proposal for the establishment of a "Free Trade
Area of the Americas" (FTAA) is a creation of the United States
government which conforms to its strategy of domination and recolonization
of the peoples of the region.
To permit such an imperialist proposal would mean the end of the
sovereignty of the nations and the arggravation of their poverty.
The united response of the entire social and people's organizations of
Latin America against the FTAA, which is uniting all the patriotic forces
against neoliberalism, has been evident in the great mobilizations and
actions of struggle in each of the countries.
The people of Latin America live today in a new situation characterized by
the unstoppable march to demand changes in the present reality and to put
an end to their suffering.
This is being demonstrated by the peoples of Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil,
Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Haiti,
and the peoples and countries Central America.
In this context, the workers and people of Cuba continue to provide a
great contribution with their example of firmness and dignity.
The world Federation of Trade Unions highly values and expresses its
admiration for the valiant position of the President of Argentina, Dr.
Kirchner and of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Commander Hugo Chavez. In the same way we salute the admirable attitude of
Presidnent Lula of Brazil in confronting FTAA and for his efforts toward
the integration of the peoples of the region.
The III Hemispheric Meeting of Struggle Against FTAA takes place in an
international context in wich imperialism, led by the Bush Administration,
is terrorizing humanity with its aggressive policies and new theats of
aggression against several sovereign countries, among which are to be
found the heroic people of Cuba.
For these reasons, this great event of the latin American peoples has a
significant historic character because it will contribute to the
strengthening of the integration of the peoples and will be another step
forward in the struggle against the FTAA, against neoliberalism. It will
contribute to the struggle to end the policies of imperialism and
neofascism carried out by the Bush Administration and its accomplices.
The contingent of the trade union organizations of the five continents who
are members of the World Federation of Trade Unions, pay homage to the
heroic people of Cuba, and to the Cuban revolution, which this month has
completed 45 years of unflinching struggle, under the leadership of the
glorious Communist Party of Cuba, led by Commander Fidel Castro, a
revolutionary leader whom we workers of the world consider as a symbol of
invincible struggle for social justice and against imperialism.
Long live the III Hemispheric Meeting of Struggle against FTAA!
long Live the Heroic People
of Cuba

Israeli-Palestinian Dialogues Committee
Nablus and Alnar Jabal will not kneel down
the occupied force
The barbaric invasion against the people of Nablus has been starting since
the last three weeks, have led to the death of 20 citizens and tens of
wounded people. Besides, the great destruction happened to the
infrastructure especially, the old historic city. This proves again the
unchangeable terrorist policy used by Sharon against the Palestinians
which emerges by the committed, massacres continuity of arresting ,
exceeding the numbers of settlements and continuity of establishing racist
separated wall. In addition to the suppressed daily practices against the
residents of the West Bank along hundred of outraged occupied barriers,
which blow up Sharon's liars statements on "Providing assistances to
the Palestinians".
We condemns these practices and call for stopping this bloody escalation
against residents of Nablus and Alnar Jabal who will not kneel down the
offensive occupied army.
